Asked Questions - FTP |
To publish your website using a FTP client, follow the steps
below:
- Go to Publishing > Publish/Update website…
on the main menu
- Press New… to create a new Publishing
Configuration
- Assign a Name to the Publishing Configuration and choose
a folder on your disk to publish your site to.
For example “Desktop\My Documents\ThunderSite”:
- Click on OK to close the Publishing Configuration window
then click on the Publish/Update button.
- Once the publishing is completed, open your FTP client
(in this example we use WS_FTP Pro)
- Enter the FTP address of your host, your login and password
then press GO (see picture below):
- You can see two panels. The left panel represents your
local disk; the right panel represents your host. On the
left panel browse to the folder (on your disk) where you
previously published your site using ThunderSite (Desktop\My
Documents\ThunderSite). On the right panel choose
the folder where you want to publish your site to (by default
the root folder ‘/’ is selected).
- Click on the arrow pointing right to start transferring
your files towards your host on the Internet (see image
below).
- Once your files have been transferred, your site will
be available on the Web.
